NWHF Curator and Educator Abigail Glogower will be in Chicago this week presenting at a pre-conference meeting of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions. Entitled Information and Artifactual Literacies: Engaging Minds in Libraries and Museums, this gathering of museum and library archivists, curators, and educators will explore “both practice and theory on the myriad ways in which primary sources and museum collections can be integrated into instructional programs.” Abby’s talk History Gets Personal: Curation-Based Learning in Special Collections, will present exhibition development as a powerful learning experience for high school and college students, as well as efforts underway to integrate material culture artifacts from the NWHF’s collections into new curriculum materials that will bring our oral history project to classrooms world-wide.
