DENDROFEMONOLOGY: A Feminist History Tree Ring
Tiffany Shlain’s Dendrofemonology remakes the historical tree ring into a timeline of the story of women and power in society. Made of reclaimed deodar cedar, the artist stilled 50,000 years of feminist history into 32 points and burned them into the wood using pyrography. On display at the National Women’s Hall of Fame starting May 15, 2026.
This moveable monument has traveled from Washington DC to Madison Square Park in NYC to Saint Louis, MO to San Francisco and is now on display at the National Women’s Hall of Fame starting May 15th, 2026.
