Based on the beloved play by Josefina López and the HBO film of the same name, Real Women Have Curves is a laugh-out-loud, heartwarming musical that celebrates female empowerment, personal ambition, and the communities that shape us. With a cast of primarily first-time Broadway performers and music by Grammy Award-winner Joy Huerta (of Jesse & Joy) and Benjamin Velez, the show has already earned 12 major award nominations, including two Tony nods.
Set in a small East LA garment factory, the story follows Ana, a first-generation Mexican American teen balancing dreams of college with the weight of family expectations. What unfolds is a powerful tribute to identity, sisterhood, and what it really means to show up for yourself—and for each other.
