SUMMARY:Rug Hooking and Women's Suffrage
DESCRIPTION:During New York State’s Path Through History Weekend\, the Hall will be hosting Norma Press of Geneva who will be discussing a special exhibit of over 30 rugs related to the history of the women’s suffrage movement. These rugs were created to celebrate the 100thanniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution on August 18\, 1920. The rugs help illustrate this history with images of suffrage leaders\, important places\, and interpretations of original suffrage artwork. Some rugs underscore the importance of voting today. \nThe exhibit honors the celebrated women of the Hall and the thousands of local women who worked in this woolen mill during its 155 years of operation. \nThis event is free and open to the public on Saturday\, October 8th at 12pm!

SUMMARY:In Collaboration: The National Women's Hall of Fame and American Women for International Understanding
DESCRIPTION:Please join the National Women’s Hall of Fame and the American Women for International Understanding on Thursday\, October 20th from 2-3 PM for a virtual forum event where you can learn about both organizations\, who we are\, and how we are putting our missions into action\, and ask questions of staff and leaders. No need to register\, simply join the Zoom event by clicking on the link below: \nhttps://us02web.zoom.us/j/83574520599 \nABOUT THE NATIONAL WOMEN’S HALL OF FAME \nThe National Women’s Hall of Fame is the nation’s first and oldest nonprofit organization and museum dedicated to honoring and celebrating the achievements of distinguished American women. In pursuit of its mission of “Showcasing great women…Inspiring all!\,” the National Women’s Hall of Fame honors women of the past and present\, relates the history of women’s struggles\, prepares women of the future\, and serves as the voice celebrating the value of women. Situated in Seneca Falls\, NY\, the birthplace of the American women’s rights movement\, the Hall tells women’s stories by focusing on the leadership lessons from its Inductees throughout American history. \nABOUT THE AMERICAN WOMEN FOR INTERNATIONAL UNDERSTANDING \nAmerican Women for International Understanding (AWIU) promotes building international understanding through personal connection. Woman to women. Our method is that every member’s contribution is valuable in connecting us to the broader world — through the celebration and support of the International Women of Courage program\, delegations to other countries\, grants to small non-profit organizations\, and the educational programs and mentorship that are the hallmark of our Passport to the Future program for young women and COIR\, Career Opportunities in International Relations. AWIU’s chapters throughout the United States act locally and in concert with our overall programs\, making the world a better place for women and girls. This Conversation is sponsored by the Buffalo\, New York chapter of AWIU.
